3. Funds can be transferred from a checking account (including your own)
4. Other UPside cardholders can send you money too!
5. Some cardholders may be eligible to load funds with another debit or credit card under their name.
1 - Receive free Direct Deposit from your employer, the IRS or any benefits provider.
Log-in to your Upside online account and retrieve your direct deposit information from the DDA window. You can even print a voided check including our address, your account and routing number. Give it to your employer, the IRS or any benefits provider, and you’re done!. It works as if you had a checking account!
2 - You can load cash onto your card at 50,000 retailers nationwide

3 - Funds can be transferred from a checking account (including your own)
Your card comes with a Direct Deposit Account number similar to the number of any bank checking account. Send your card’s DDA number to whoever needs to send you money from their checking account (you can email it directly from your online account from the Fund My UPside Card window). They simply have to initiate a regular transfer to the account designated by your DDA number.
Click here for your DDA number.
NOTE: Most banks offer account to account transfers from their website, however here are some useful tips for you and the sender of funds:
• some banks send two micro-deposits (under $1) on your card prior to the intended full transfer to verify that there was no mistake in the DDA number and that you do have access to the card account. In this case, just communicate the two micro-deposit amounts to the sender when you receive them in the card.
• If the sender’s bank does not provide online transfers, the sender simply needs to go to the bank branch and initiate the transfer in person.
Please note that we do not accept wire transfers. Loads from bank accounts must be ACH only.

4 - Other UPside cardholders can send you money too!
You can receive funds from any other UPside cardholder directly to your card, instantly and for free. You will receive an email when someone has initiated a card-to-card transfer and will see the load in the list of transactions of your online card account.
And, don’t forget that you can send funds easily from your card to another UPside card from your online card account in the UPtoU window. All you need is the receiver’s email or mobile phone number that they used to open their card account.
5 - Some cardholders may be eligible to load funds with another debit or credit card under their name.
This option is only available to cardholders who have used the card for at least three months and receive direct deposit of $1,000 or more each month. If you are eligible, a card load window will be made available on your online account.
