AccountNow.com Use Account Now Debit Cards on PayPal

The Account Now debit card is a prepaid card provided to consumers who are in need of a debit card but don't want to be bothered with ChexSystems. Although you won't have checks to go along with the debit card, you will have an account number. You can use this account number to work with a PayPal account. In order to use Account Now with PayPal, you must establish an Account Now account, establish a PayPal account, and connect the two accounts together.


Establish Account Now Account

1. Visit the Account Now website www.accountnow.com. Click on the “Get My Card” button to sign up for a free card. Upon completing the sign-up process, you will receive your Account Now card in the mail within five to seven business days.

2. Go to the Account Now website to activate your new card. To activate the card, click the “Log In” button at the top of the page. Click the “Activate Card” button. Once your card has been activated, go back to the homepage and click the “Log In” button. Enter your last name, Social Security number and zip code to access your Account Now account.

3. Click on the “Add Money” tab. Select the “Paycheck” option. You will then see a direct deposit form you can print out. On the bottom of the direct deposit form, you will see the bank's routing number as well as your account number. Write down these two sets of numbers so you can reference them later.

Establish PayPal Account

1. Visit the PayPal website www.paypal.com. Select the option to “Sign Up” for a new PayPal account. You will need an email address in order to sign up. Once signed up, go back to the PayPal homepage and log in to your PayPal account using the email address and password associated with your new PayPal account.

2. Click on the “My Account” tab. Select the “Profile” link. Click on the option labeled “Add or Edit Bank Account.” Click the “Add Bank” button.

3. Ensure that the “Checking” option is selected. Enter the Account Now routing number and your Account Now account number you previously wrote down. Click “Continue.” PayPal will then send two small deposits to your Account Now account. It can take up to 48 to 72 hours for the deposits to hit your account.


Connect the Accounts

1. Log in to your Account Now account. Look in your transaction history to find the two deposit amounts from PayPal. Write down these two deposit amounts.

2. Log in to your PayPal account. Click on the “Confirm” button to confirm your Account Now account. You will be asked to enter the amount for the two small deposits. You will have the option of making your Account Now account your “Primary” account to be used with PayPal.

3. Transfer money from your PayPal account onto your Account Now debit card. To do this, log in to your PayPal account to view your “PayPal Account Balance.” If there is money in your PayPal account, click on the “Withdraw” link located under the “My Account” tab.

4. Click on “Transfer to Bank Account.” Select your Account Now account from the drop-down list.

5. Enter the amount of your PayPal balance that you would like to transfer to your Account Now debit card. Click “Continue” and “Submit.” It can take two to three business days for the money to appear in your Account Now account.
