Netspend.com Transfer Funds Between Green Dot and NetSpend
Green Dot and Netspend are both non-traditional financial vehicles in that they are not affiliated with financial institutions like regular bank accounts. The purpose for these options is to provide a similar ability for people who prefer to not deal with traditional banks, or for some reason are unable to have a standard account. Performing transactions such as money transfers between non-traditional accounts requires a more involved approach.
1. Contact the Netspend customer account service department by calling 1-86-NETSPEND (1-866-387-7363). Provide your account number (card number), your password, and your address of record.
2. Ask the customer service agent for the routing number for the financial institution that backs your Netspend account (Metabank) and your personal account number. Record the numbers for future use.
3. Contact Green Dot's customer service department at 1-877-434-3578. Provide the necessary account verification information and retrieve the routing number for Columbus Bank and Trust Company (the issuer of Green Dot Cards) and your personal account number.
4. Transfer funds from one account to another through customer service. You will need to initiate the transfer from the "from" account. Nothing needs to be done in relation to the destination account other than providing the routing number and account number.
