Capital One provides a number of attractive credit card offerings. Once you apply for a new Capital One card, you first have to activate it before you can use it. Capital One allows credit card customers in the United States to activate online; however, Canadian customers have to follow a different activation procedure. Here’s how to activate your card through phone at capitalone.com/activate number

How to activate your Capital One card

• In order to begin the activation process, go to the activation page at capitalone.com/activate number
• US customers can simply sign in to their accounts in order to activate. They can also click on the START HERE button to create an account first in case they don’t have one yet. If you are from a Canadian customer, however, click on the Canadian Flag icon.
• A window should popup, and on #1 it gives you the capitalone.com/activate number to call for card activation: 1-800-655-5646
• Make sure you have your 3-digit security code (located at the back of the card) on hand when you call

I can’t activate

In case you still can’t activate using the capitalone.com/activate number you can contact the customer service hotline at 1-800-227-4825. If you are calling from outside the U.S., call 1-804-934-2001 instead.
