Mr. T.R. Pachamuthu, the Chancellor, SRM University, began his pursuit to provide top class education by establishing a school – ‘Florence Nightingale Primary School’ – in Chennai in the year 1968. In the same year, the Valliammai Society in honour of his mother Mrs. R. Valliammai, was founded.
