www.sbi.co.in is the website for The State Bank of India (SBI). The State Bank of India (SBI) offers several account options to its customers, such as an SBI savings account, salary account, current account, business account and non-resident Indian (NRI) account.

Open SBI Savings Account just follow the instruction below-

Indian Residents

Collect the application form from the information desk of the branch where you intend to open your bank account and Complete the form after carefully reading all the instructions provided in the annexure, attached to the application. Then Attach your identity proof along with the application. This can include copies of your passport, driver's license, PAN card or a valid voter identity card and Attach your residence proof along with the application. Residence proof can include any utility bill in your name, such as your current bill, telephone bill or your bank passbook with your address on it. Also Attach two recent passport-sized photographs with your application. Then Hand over the completed application form to the bank for processing.

Non-resident Indians

Download the application form online from SBI's website. Alternatively, if you are at an SBI bank branch, request for an SBI application form from the counter and Complete the form carefully, after reading the instructions stated in the annexure that is attached with the application form. Then get your application signed and endorsed by an SBI officer. Alternatively, you can also get your application endorsed at the Indian embassy. Then attach copies of your passport as an identity proof along with the SBI application form and attach copies of your visa showing your immigration status along with the completed SBI application form and attach copies of your work permit or study permit with the SBI application form and attach copies of the first page of your bank passbook, showing details of the other bank accounts that you may be holding at the present. Then Submit your completed SBI application form to the bank for processing, along with two recent passport-sized photographs and the rest of the documentary evidence.
