www.roadrunner.com- Road Runner Email and Remote Access

Time Warner Cable offers a high speed Internet service called Road Runner which includes one master email account and, depending on the level of service, from five to 25 additional mailboxes. Users access their accounts through an email client or by web browser using Road Runner Web Mail.

Email Accounts

A subscription to the Road Runner service is necessary in order to use Road Runner's email service. The number of permissible mailboxes and storage size depends entirely on the service level purchased. Basic service guarantees five sub-account mailboxes and 100 megabytes of total storage space for all sub-accounts. Premium subscriptions include 25 mailboxes and a total of five gigabytes of storage. Users create and manage sub-accounts via the "Mail" section of the Road Runner home page.

Email Client Setup

Users access their email by using a third party email client such as Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express or Mozilla Thunderbird. Record the account user name and password, SMTP (outgoing) and POP3 (incoming) mail server settings from the Road Runner Help and Member Services before attempting to create a mailbox within the email software.

Remote Access Through Web Mail

# Road Runner offers email account holders access to remote mail by using a web browser. Road Runner Web Mail features an online address book, basic text formatting capabilities, return receipts, personalized signatures, virus scanning and spam filtering, and the ability to manage and customize mailbox settings.

Size Matters

Messages are limited to a total size of 30 megabytes and 99 recipients for each email message. Each "inbox" can hold 10 megabytes of data and each user may send email to 1,000 recipients in any 24-hour period. Finally, the system deletes messages that are over 60 days old, unless the user downloads the messages to a personal computer.
