Comcast, a popular cable provider, supplies you with access to a high definition digital video recorder (HD DVR), for an extra monthly fee, so you can record television shows in high definition video to watch at your leisure. Before you can use the Comcast HD DVR you must first activate the receiver.
If you want to activate Comcast HD DVR contact Comcast (1-800-266-2278) and request an upgrade to an HD DVR. If you do not currently have an HD service, you will need a new receiver which must be installed by a Comcast service technician. If you currently receive high definition programming through your receiver, the service representative can activate the DVR built into the HD receiver over the phone.
Plug the HDMI cable into the "HDMI Out" port on the Comcast HD DVR, then insert the other end of the cable into one of the "HDMI In" ports on the HDTV.
Power on the Comcast HD DVR receiver and turn on the television.
Press the "Input" button on the TV -- depending on the TV this may also be called "Source" or "Video" -- then choose "HDMI." The Comcast HD DVR receiver programming should now appear on the television screen.
