www.qwest.com- How to Stop Qwest Advertisements

According to a 2010 Advertising Age magazine report, Qwest Communications is one of the top 100 national advertisers. Qwest spent $338 million on U.S. advertising in 2009. For various reasons, some consumers would rather not receive Qwest's marketing efforts. If you are one of these people, you can take steps to reduce or eliminate future communications from Qwest.

Stop Direct Mail Ads From Qwest

1. Log on to a computer and visit the DMAchoice registration page

2. Register with DMAchoice, the Direct Marketing Association's (DMA) mail preference service. You can register by mail for a $1 fee, or you can register online for a $5 fee. The DMA divides direct mail into four categories: magazine offers, credit offers, catalogs and other offers. You can choose a specific company, such as Qwest, or you can choose an entire category from which you do not want to receive mail.

3. Contact Qwest directly. Registering with the DMA will prevent you from receiving Qwest direct mail only if you are a prospective customer. Current and past Qwest customers will still receive Qwest mail because they have an established business relationship with Qwest. Residential Qwest customers can call 1-800-244-1111 to stop getting direct mail from Qwest. Small business customers must call 1-800-603-6000. Residential and small business customers can also email their preference to privacy@qwest.com. Once you have made the request, Qwest will not send you direct mail for two years.

Stop Phone Solicitations From Qwest

1. Log onto a computer and visit the DNational Do Not Call Registry site.

3. Contact Qwest directly. Just as with direct mail, Qwest can still contact current and past customers by phone because they have an established business relationship with Qwest. You can use the Qwest phone numbers and email address in the Stop Direct Mail Ads From Qwest section to be put on Qwest's internal Do Not Call list. Or you can ask the Qwest salesperson to add you to the list when you receive a call. Residential customers will remain on Qwest's Do Not Call list for five years. Business customers will be on the list for at least 120 days in most states.
