Qwest DSL is available for home and business users. To best cater to its customers, Qwest offers two installation options. For more experienced users, all equipment can be sent to your home for self-installation. For customers wanting to ensure Qwest DSL is installed correctly, a technician can be sent to your home to install all equipment and software. Support is available both online and over the phone for anyone needing support during or after the installation.

Self Installation

1. Register for self-installation during the Qwest DSL sign-up process. Select to have the modem and software sent to your home instead of scheduling a technician. If you order by phone, you will also be able to select this option.

2. Insert the CD into your computer. Follow the steps provided by the installation wizard.

3. Connect your modem to your computer when prompted. Do not connect the modem until prompted by the CD.

4. Continue the steps in the installation wizard. Restart your computer when prompted to allow all settings to take effect.

Technician Installation

1. Schedule a time for a technician to come to your home during the Qwest DSL sign-up process.

2. Show the technician your computer and where you wish the modem to be set up. Allow the technician to perform the installation.

3. Test the connection before the technician leaves and ask any questions you have about the hardware as well, such as how to reboot the modem.
